WOMAN CRITICAL AFTER HINTERLAND CAR CRASH
A WOMAN was flown to hospital in a critical condition after receiving significant leg injuries in a hinterland car crash yesterday afternoon.
Beaudesert Beenleigh Road was closed about 12.45pm after a van collided with a hatchback. A truck then slammed into the hatchback.
The 55-year-old woman driver of the hatchback was trapped in her car for at least half an hour before firefighters managed to free her. She was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.
A 19-year-old man, who was driving the van, received ankle injuries and abdominal bruising and was taken to Logan Hospital in a stable condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
