Ashes win suspicions

-

A CLOUD of suspicion has now embroiled Australia’s thumping 4-0 Ashes Test series victory as the cricket crisis deepens with fresh claims of systemic ball-tampering on skipper Steve Smith’s watch.

Self-confessed cheat, Aussie opener Cameron Bancroft, is under further scrutiny for his actions in last summer’s Ashes series against England.

Video footage has emerged of Bancroft allegedly pouring sugar in his pocket before entering the field on day two of the final Ashes Test against England in Sydney in January.

England fast bowler Stuart Broad has queried how Australia was gaining reverse swing in its Ashes win.

“Look at that Ashes series we just played. They reverseswung the ball in nearly all of those Test matches, sometimes in conditions where you wouldn’t expect the ball to reverse,” noted 114-Test veteran Broad.
