Audit into police guns

AN URGENT statewide audit into police issued and seized firearms is underway after an employee was allegedly found with several firearms at his Crestmead property.

The man, who reportedly works within the Brisbane gun storage facility, sustained a gunshot injury on Monday night.

Emergency Services responded to what was called in a power tool injury but upon arrival discovered the man had shot himself in the hand while cleaning a rifle. It prompted the search of his house, where police allegedly located eight firearms, Seven News reported.
