JAMES FLIES HIGH FOR CHEVRON FEST

- BRIANNA MORRIS-GRANT

FOR some, it might seem terrifying, but for Currumbin local James Lamont juggling, balancing and trampolining is just another day on the job.

The 59-year-old has rolled straight off a cruise ship and onto the shore as a main act for Chevron Fest next month, hosted by Chevron Renaissance shopping centre.

This line of work was a given for Mr Lamont, who started out following in the footsteps of his high-diving father and grandfather.

But he said he was far more careful when it came to his own children.

“My father and grandfather were crazy, and I’m from the same gene pool so I’m just as dumb as them, going, ‘oh, okay’.

“You wonder now if they had my best interests at heart, but I got through it, I survived.”

Running from April 3-15, Chevron Fest will also feature comedy acts and a variety of street performers.
