Weather Gods to smile on us
GREY skies are predicted to dampen Wednesday’s opening ceremony but athletes will not have to wait long before the sun begins to shine.
Weatherzone metrologist Joel Pippard said clouds would be hanging around for the next three days with light showers of no more than predicted.
The all-important opening ceremony on Wednesday night is predicted to see some of that rain. “It will be fairly cloudily with a chance of the storm and lighting strikes,” Mr Pippard said. five millimetres
Skies are expected to clear towards the end of the week, with sunshine predicted on Friday and over the weekend.
Mr Pippard said temperatures throughout the week would remain between a 20 and 22 minimum and 27 to 28 maximum.
