HOW WE’RE GOING TO SAY THANKS

-

VOLUNTEERING for the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast is a once-in-alifetime experience for the 15,000 lucky enough to be chosen.

The volunteers have undergone 360 hours of training and will give a combined one million hours of their time.

They include the young, elderly, local residents and those who have travelled thousands of kilometres over many seas.

To celebrate this selfless contribution the Gold Coast Bulletin has launched a ‘Thank you to the Volunteers of the Commonwealth Games’ commemorative, including the publishing of a magazine and competition.

The 32-page liftout, published on April 27, will celebrate the stories and moments of the volunteer army throughout the Games.

All volunteers are urged to share their most memorable moment and have the chance to win two nights accommodation at Sea World Resort.

Village Roadshow Theme Parks CEO Clark Kirby said he was delighted to join forces with the Gold Coast Bulletin to celebrate the contribution of the volunteers.

“The volunteers are such an integral part of producing an event such as the Commonwealth Games and this feature will really highlight the many magnificent people behind the uniforms and their remarkable stories,” he said.

“Along with offering complimentary entry to our parks during the Games, this feature is another fantastic way for us to get behind the volunteers and say a sincere thank you for all of their hardwork and really show our appreciation.”
