MIA CATCHES PIN FEVER

-

GOLD Coast schoolkid Mia Graham is getting into the Games spirit with her own collection of the Gold Coast Bulletin’s exclusive Borobi pins. Readers can get their hands on the exclusive, limited-edition pins from tomorrow with the paper.

NOTHING screams Aussie spirit more than a young girl, decked out in green and gold, who’s excited by the Commonwealth Games.

“Even though the Games haven’t started yet, and it’s just been the relays, it’s been exciting watching the athletes and the people who have made it happen,” 11year-old Sophie Allen said.

The youngster said it felt right to wear her brightest outfit, to cheer on the Queen’s Baton as it came into Bundall.

“I found this bright green skirt and a bunch of Australian stuff,” she said.

“It’s important to get into the spirit of it all.”

And getting a sneak peak of the official Borobi pin collection wasn’t so bad either.

“It would be good to collect, if you have them, you can bring them out in a few years time and it’ll be a good memory.”

Kids from Somerset College at Mudgeeraba, members of the Optus Junior Dolphins, a program that encourages young kids to swim, also got an early glimpse of the pins.
