The Collective Palm Beach is rolling out its school holiday program to keep the kids entertaine­d while parents indulge in temptation­s from five kitchens and a rooftop bar. For four to 12-year-olds, it runs every afternoon from Monday to Friday with pizza and churros cooking classes, cupcake decorating and more starting at $15 per child. Bookings are essential. The venue will also screen Commonweal­th Games highlights on a big screen.

Soak up the sporting atmosphere at Southport Sharks’ pop-up outdoor entertainm­ent area

Fans Corner. There’ll be food trucks, including the Streets Ice Cream Caravan, and two bars, The Yak Float and The Cocktail Cart, and you can catch the action from lunch until late.

Man Tea is returning to the QT Hotel Gold Coast. Designed for business meetings, birthday parties and even man showers (celebratin­g dads-to-be), blokes are invited to unwind in Stingray Lounge. They’ll feast on the likes of Moreton Bay bug rolls, beef skewers, sashimi tacos, Glenmorang­ie smoked brisket sliders, loaded fries and a dessert cigar made purely of chocolate finished with whiskey semifreddo, candied bacon and lemon ash. Ranging from $39 — $72 per person depending on your tipple of choice, Man Tea is available Friday — Sunday from midday until 4pm.
