PHILLIP Sami is the Gold Coast’s $5000 bargain who defied his family’s wishes and knocked back super coach Craig Bellamy. The 20-year-old has been sensational on the wing after receiving a shot of confidence from coach Garth Brennan. Sami, a product of the Goodna Eagles, was chased by the Storm as a schoolboy, but pledged his allegiance to the Titans under20s for $5000 after being spotted by former recruitment manager Jamie Mathiou.
