DANCERS REVVED UP FOR END OF WORLD PARTY

- PEYTON HUTCHINS

THE end of the world is coming to Surfers Paradise beach today.

Bleach* favourites The Farm will perform The Ninth Wave, a theatrical-styled dance described as “the party to end all parties”.

The Gold Coast group is an international network of artists led by co-directors Gavin Webber and Grayson Millward.

Mr Millward said he was excited for audiences to see the show come to life.

“It begins with two children making their way through an apocalyptic world.” he said. “Dancers then emerge from a limo buried beneath the sand, partying their way into oblivion. The dance shows how families deal with each other.”

The car will form one of the show’s centrepieces, and will also see Mr Millward perform a dance on it with his seven-year-old son.

“I am completely rapt with the show ... and I don’t say that a lot,” Millward said.

“It is very physical and dangerous and I know kids are really going to love that.”
