Gina backs Trump path

AUSTRALIA’S richest woman Gina Rinehart says Donald Trump is the answer to bridging the gap between males and females.

The mining magnate was on the Gold Coast for the Commonwealth Games when she said that her answer to the #metoo movement, sparked in part by multiple reports of President Trump’s sexual harassment claims, was to mimic his economic policies.

“I think two of the larger democracies in the world are showing us where to go and one of those is the US and President Trump,” she said.

“Where we should be going is cutting all taxes and red tape.

“Why we should be doing that? Because it will help our economies in terms of investment, it’ll help job opportunities and has happened already with President trump he’s got the lowest female unemployment rates for more than 17 years.

“And some of the others he’s got down to 50 years. So it’s making sure any country’s economy is healthy.”

Many of President Trumps policies have revolved around reducing foreign imports and centralising work so that national employment rates rise, which as Ms Rinehart said, in turn means all employment rates have risen.

“I think that Trump’s economic policies are very helpful and something Australia should learn from,” she said.

“Why do I say they’re helpful? If you learn from unemployment it’s dropped, it’s better than it was for females.

“If you look at Hispanics and negroes once again the unemployment figures are better than they have been for 20 years or more.

“Female unemployment is better than it’s been for 17 years. So this is what happens when you’ve got good economic policies.”

As for women in male dominated industries, Julia Gillard recently said the gap would not be bridged until 2200 at this rate. Ms Rinehart said she had no solution but for women to work harder.

“I think what we need to do and what I was told a very long time ago is just work 20 times harder,” she said.

“I’ve been doing it for the last 40 years so ... I think it’s more important to get the economic policies right and get the investment happening, otherwise everyone suffers.”
