Cash payout follows siege
A HOSTAGE and two police officers who shot a man during a siege in Perth almost three years ago, leaving him a paraplegic, have been awarded a total of almost $57,000 in compensation.
Daniel John Ashley burst into the Mosman Park property in June 2015, taking his exgirlfriend and four other people hostage before police shot him in the torso and face.
The Criminal Injuries Compensation chief assessor said the officers and one of the hostages thought they were going to die and suffered psychological effects.
