Barty stars as Stosur falters

WORLD No.18 Ashleigh Barty made light work of unseeded American Sofia Kenin to advance to the second round of the Charleston Open in the US.

Ninth seed Barty opened her clay campaign in style, cruising to a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

But there was no such luck for Gold Coaster Samantha Stosur who suffered yet another early exit, this time against world No.107 Kristie Ahn.

Stosur had 26 unforced errors in her 6-2, 6-4 loss.
