AFL behind Roos’ push
HOCKEYROOS coach Paul Gaudoin is adopting an AFLinspired mentality as his side braces for the overwhelming pressure of a home Commonwealth Games.
A two-time Olympian with the Kookaburras, Gaudoin is no stranger to public pressure but admitted the Hockeyroos, three-time defending champions, would face unprecedented scrutiny on the Coast.
“Number one is we’ve got to embrace what we’ve got here. In the AFL, sides win at home and I think we’ve got to use the opportunity to use our crowd, our audience,” Gaudoin said.
