State Government’s Domestic and Family Violence Death Review and Advisory Board’s annual report again revealed the huge impact domestic and family violence is having across our state.
It’s clear there are gaps in interstate notification processes that put vulnerable children and domestic violence victims in danger when they move across borders.
There are also gaps in the notification processes when perpetrators of domestic violence move interstate. This is an issue that should be above politics.
It’s important this report and its recommendations are urgently addressed. The longer things are left to drift, the more people are in danger of falling into a system of normalised family violence. We need to break that cycle.
