Burton not out for long

SURFERS Paradise playercoach Kris Burton hopes to be back on the field this month despite dislocating his shoulder at training this week.

Burton, who has orchestrated back-to-back Gold Coast District Rugby Union premiership campaigns, was already set to miss the side’s next match against Palm Beach Currumbin on April 21 due to a work commitment.

He suffered the injury when a teammate fell on him awkwardly in a ruck at training on Tuesday night. However, the early diagnosis is positive with surgery not required.
