Call for help on assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault at Burleigh Heads.

A man who suffered facial injuries alleges he was assaulted by a group of youths at a northbound bus stop on the Gold Coast Hwy at 11.15pm on March 31.

The 20-year-old was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

A Miami boy, 14, has been arrested and charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Investigators believe up to four others were involved and have appealed for public assistance to identity them or give their whereabouts.

A man and a woman who are believed to have helped the victim are being urged to come forward.
