GOLD Coast crimebusters have taken a left-field approach in bringing crooks to justice. Just as prohibition agent Eliot Ness and his team known as The Untouchables turned up the heat on Chicago crime lords in the 1920s-30s to smash illegal grog operations and put notorious gangster Al Capone behind bars – for tax evasion! – Coast police have found a chink in the armour of bikies and other thugs.

Domestic violence is a major problem . Thugs standing over people and businesses are just as likely to be doing the same in their own homes.

Their brutal reign of terror with partners and children is the Achilles heel that allows investigators to drag the cowards into court in the bid to lock them away.
