Bid for Godfreys
THE directors of vacuum cleaner retailer Godfreys have told shareholders they will “carefully consider” an unsolicited buyout bid by 99-yearold co-founder John Johnston.
The company recommended shareholders take no action as it appointed an independent expert to assess whether the offer was fair and reasonable.
Mr Johnston yesterday launched a 32c-a-share bid that he hopes will allow him to delist the business and rebuild its failing fortunes.
