Lonergan top of MVP votes

-

GOLD Coast Suns midfielder Jesse Lonergan has shot out of the blocks to be joint leader of the NEAFL MVP Award after the opening round of voting.

Lonergan, who had 26 disposals and eight clearances in the Suns’ 20point Round 1 win over Aspley, sits level on nine votes with NT Thunder veteran Cameron Ilett, a runner-up for last year’s MVP Award.

Andrew Boston (eight) and Josh Clayton (seven) polled the most votes in Southport’s win over Redland.
