Duo staying in the hunt
AUSTRALIAN squash pair David Palmer and Zac Alexander are the first team through to the men’s doubles quarterfinals after beating a Jamaican team in their final preliminary match.
Palmer and Alexander took just 28 minutes to defeat Chris Binnie and Lewis Walters 11-7 11-4 at Oxenford.
The result keeps Palmer in the hunt for a third Commonwealth Games gold medal after winning the mixed and men’s doubles in Glasgow in 2014.
Earlier yesterday, Christine Nunn and Sarah Cardwell were knocked out of the squash doubles after losing to New Zealand’s Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy.
