ABUNDANCE OF WHITING NEAR JUMPINPIN BAR

PLENTY of good-sized whiting around in the surf gutters of South Stradbroke Island and around Jumpinpin Bar.

Sand crabs have been caught in good numbers around the Coomera River and there are banana prawns in the same area.

Squire are starting to turn up on the closer reefs like Sullies just out from the bar.

TILAPIA ABOUND, WHILE BASS AND HERRING AT DAMS

THERE were plenty of tilapia caught last weekend.

Big bass have been biting well in Hinze Dam.

Try for giant herring in dams around Coomera and Oxenford.

And still worth trying for red claw, especially in the Maroon Dam.

MACKEREL ARE ON THE BITE NEAR REEFS

SPANISH mackerel have been in good numbers off Diamond Reef as well as the 18 Fathom Reef from the Seaway south to Mermaid.

Live baiting marlin on Deep Treg Reef proved successful over the weekend.

Heaps of whiting in the Broadwater and prawns around the powerlines at Jacobs Well.

BIG JACKS ON THE ROCKS IN TWEED RIVER

BIG mangrove jacks have been caught along the rock wall in the Tweed River.

Palm Beach and Mermaid reef have been OK for mackerel. The Gravel Patch has been holding good numbers too.

Some quality jacks have been caught in the Tweed River along the rock wall using live baits.
