UNSUNG Games heroes have been the bus drivers. David driving the 704 on Thursday waited for passengers, greeted them with a smile, offered to help another passenger reading a timetable at a stop and gave a running commentary on all that was good about the Gold Coast. Great stuff.

A category tickets for the athletics super final and yet our seats were so uncomfortable. Barely room shoulder to shoulder. Poor! Spoiled the night.

I hope our govt gives the missing athletes asylum. We support so many that just think it is their due, to the detriment of our own people. They must be desperate to abscond. Heaven knows what awaits them in their homelands. Fan

Wonderful feats by wonderful athletes deserve high praise and not condemnation. Praise the lord!

So. Awesome sports, brilliant volunteers and a well-organised transport system. Just a pity all the whingeing locals left the party. Thank you State Gov, GOLDOC and GCC. It’s been seriously awesome !!!!

The G. I’ve had a serious look at any alternatives to fix the Kings College and the best I can recommend is to helicopter everyone in and out. If that sounds ridiculous, you started it. Tom.

2O32 Olympics? NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! PJ. Robina.

I am loving the Gold Coast games. Brilliant sporting results and so many happy and intrigued tourists. I discovered The Memory App so I have been loading in so many special photos and personal memory stuff for instant recall for my grandkids in twenty years from now. Very proud. The local.

I hope this is the end of the Clarke/Warne toxic era, fresh blood for the commentary box hopefully. Mick

Get set for the Games, why were you still advertising on the radio on Friday to change travel plans when it’s all but over and was a non-event anyway. Waste of money again!

Hope the Comm games organisers are going to give all those purpose-built 2018 marquis to volunteers or auction them off. Not dump them. I want one. Johnbrew

Travelled on buses and light rail to lawn bowls & also to Helensvale - congrats to very

helpful staff and volunteers who were fabulous. Transport ran like clockwork. Only problem could not take photos or see clearly out of windows as tram wrapped in advertising. JO

We are the premier tourist destination of the south pacific - and of course we should plan for the future and put

our hand up for the 2032 olympics. By then the antifun, anti-jobs, anti-everything, mischievous, greenie, leftie, Luddite, nimby anarchists would have found another place to serially whinge, defile and denigrate.

I have no problem with Brisbane bidding for the Olympics in 2032 as long as 90% of the events are held there. Let them have the road closures and interruptions to business and the public so we can get their business down here next time when Brisbanites escape the Olympics.

So the US has conclusive evidence, that they won’t release, enough to destroy any evidence that Syria developed chemical weapons, so that no independent body could conclusively prove it one way or the other?

What a disgrace Channel 7 only showing the Aussie medal winners. JPM

You have to salute Australia they are good at absolutely everything ..Patrick

To those who think that Israel Folau should not have a right to make a comment on his beliefs. How about we take away your right to have your say. Now let's get back to talking equality.

5 of the top 10 richest countries in the world per capita owe their wealth to fossil fuel export. Wake up Australia.

Please let the South African cycle team know that they left about 60 of their bright orange bicycles at Currumbin. John Palm Beach

GREAT news that most of the costs 4 MRI’s relating to investigating prostate cancer are now being subsidised. Male problems have been ignored for far too long. Just Sayin, GC

Been watching TV since 1956. And have seen more ads in the last two weeks than the last 62 years. Pete
