Kurt Fearnley. What a champion athlete; believing in himself and motivating others! ALSO his wife an inspiration as well, between them raising two young children. Ma

It is not surprising that suicide is the major cause of mortality in our teens. On the one hand we have an education system that is moving towards teaching equity and fairness while on the other hand the youth are faced with the reality of a cut throat job market where equity and fairness is the last thing most will see. Do all our politicians intend to create a generation of psychotics, are they psychotics themselves, or are they being advised by psychotics? The answer is all of the above. The real answer is to balance international relations and internal relations with genuine equity and fairness by not going to extremes either way.

Watch out NRL Beattie is coming. AK

The bombing of Syria justified because of a large body of information... Be nice to have actual Evidence. Warmongers win again. Don

Quiz, which was the higher number? Australian Gold Medals won at games or the amount of times Peter Beattie had to apologise over games issues?

Comm. Games – gold medals everywhere. No medals for organising - hopeless rostering and useless public transport!

Kudos to Israel Folau for his strong religious beliefs vs sport and sponsors. Pity most others weren't as committed to their own religious beliefs as someone once said, “Let those among you without sin throw the first stone.” Doug

As a Kiwi l thought it was clever thinking only playing half the NZ anthem. Turns out they only needed it a couple of times. JPM

NZ won the sevens, congratulations, same medal count as 1990 in Auckland

So the Oz netball team coach is whingeing about the English team having imported players, the same could be said of most teams in all codes in Oz! BTW how many of your Oz netballers have indigenous names? Sour grapes me thinks! Fred

Premier wants to attract big sporting events yet the Premier and her government are kicking out our footy side by charging $110,000 to play in their stadium. Hopeless. P.M. footy fan.

With the new cricket commentary era here, people voice your opinions to keep Channel

9 rejects out, especially the queen of bad press Clarke. Who isn’t over its commentary? Mick

Re pedestrian crossings. Is it ok for a push bike to ride across while ride still mounted? Peter Beattie has proved one thing. He couldn't run a two door toilet. PJ, Robina.

The closing ceremony should have been closed before it even started. We walked out in disgust, were only there for about 50 minutes. Graeme

One good thing we achieved with the games. We helped the Birmingham Mayor by showing what not to do. JR, Ashmore.

Can we believe MKR? It used to be a pleasant show. Now it's like watching an angry episode of ‘Days of our lives’.

Alarm bells should have rung the minute some fool decided to call the Games volunteers ‘Games Shapers’! No connection with what real people want. mk I have to say that the all the athletes in these games did their respective countries proud. But the games as an event was a farce full of flaws and the closing ceremony especially embarrassing. A hard act to follow for Birmingham! Yeah right. Jay Jamie Roberts

Now the games have finished the whingers can get back to Black Swan Lake.

Ch. 7 – all those beauty tips in the middle of your program, how ridiculous. As if all this rubbish in tons of commercials wasn't enough!

The next host country have only one thing to do to make it better than the GC games. Make sure they don't have a Peter Beattie or GOLDOC type people involved in the games. Dan I have to agree with JPM. I spent my time during the Games watching their coverage and you would think the Aussies were the only ones to win a gold unless they were not involved in the final outcome. James P McGuire

Apparently GC bus drivers were "very helpful and welcoming" during the Comm. Games! Really? It's a pity that they don't exercise that level of common courtesy to the locals on every other day of the year! Shame on the majority of them! Zam

Southport cafes should recover some of their trade next Saturday afternoon/evening. Games volunteers have been invited to a party on the Broadwater. They can either BYO food and drink, or purchase from outlets in the area. BM Southport
