Arrest for car crashes

POLICE are looking for witnesses to a car crash on the Gold Coast where an alleged drink driver rammed his car into at least six others.

Around 1.30pm yesterday, police responded to multiple calls from the public after a Holden Commodore collided with half a dozen cars along Oxley Dve and Lae Dve in Runaway Bay.

Police managed to find the man walking north along Oxley Dve after the car finally crashed into a bus at the intersecti­on of Kangaroo Ave and Waterbird Plc in Coombabah.

The car was found at the alleged offender’s driveway.

A Coombabah man, 32, was arrested and charged with mid-range drink driving after blowing an alleged reading of 0.140. He was also charged with driving without due care and attention and failing to remain at the scene of a crash.
