OLD DOG KNOWS DEW TRICKS

-

TEN years ago Luke Hodge and Stuart Dew embraced in the middle of the MCG as the Hawks downed Geelong in the most unlikely of premiership wins.

Hodge, who picked up 26 disposals and kicked a goal, was awarded the Norm Smith Medal for his efforts.

Dew, for his part, was so influential that day that Geelong fans were constantly reminded that they only lost the game because of the weather – the heavy Dew on the field.

This weekend the two Hawthorn legends become opponents in a way that neither of them would have dreamt of a decade ago.

Dew will be looking to do his damage for the Suns from the coaches’ box, while Hodge will play field marshal for the Lions as the two take on their first QClash.
