New S groundswel­l fills in. Ranging from 2 to 4ft northern NSW south facing breaks. Mixing with ESE windswell at 1 to 3ft southern Queensland’s exposed beaches, grading to 1 to 2ft along the points and inside the bays. WIND: Early lighter SSW inshore tending SSE 10 to 15 knots, potentiall­y freshening to 15 to 20 knots or more during the afternoon.

TOMORROW

ESE windswell combines with easing SSE groundswel­l. Ranging from 2 to 3ft northern NSW south facing breaks, grading to 2ft or so across southern Queensland and building during the afternoon. WIND: Model divergence owing to developing trough/ low. Possibly lighter SSW to SW inshore, tending light SE to ESE 10 to 20 knots.

WEDNESDAY

Potential for rising E and SE swells. Ranging from 2 to 3ft exposed breaks early, bigger later. Grading to a smaller 1 to 2ft along the points and inside the bays. WIND: Early light W to SW up to 5 knots, tending SE, possibly SSW and freshening later.
