Roos caught on hop to suffer loss

-

THE Robina Roos have let slip a 12-point lead at halftime to lose to Coomera in Round 3 of the QFA division two competition.

Robina’s Ben Rodwell, Tim Curwen and Jarryd Klessens gifted Robina a five-point lead going into the first break and the Roos continued their success in the second term.

But Robina conceded five majors in the third with just one in reply before going goalless in the final quarter to lose 15.17 (107) to 8.9 (57).

Hayden Correa and Zane Baker each finished with four majors for Coomera, while Jason Kish and Aaron Kidney recorded two apiece for Robina.

In the earlier game, the Robina reserves team prevailed 7.8 (50) to 5.6 (36).

A first-quarter assault on goal gave the side a 20-point buffer and Jhye Pearson’s troops refused to let Coomera back into the game.

Joel Ralph marked his 50th reserves game with a best-onground performance, aided by Peter Rutherford who finished with four goals. Robina will meet Beenleigh on Saturday.
