HISTORY shows that at 8.01pm (AEST) on April 23, the Royal Family’s newest little prince was born and all eyes were on the Lindo maternity wing of St Mary’s hospital in London.

And on the other side of the world, 40 minutes later, the Stanley family of Paradise Point welcomed a prince of their own.

“When we found out Samantha was pregnant, it was around the time Kate (Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) announced she was pregnant again as well,” first-time dad Matt said of when the Stanleys learned they were having a child.

“We knew we were having a boy, and I just had a feeling he would be born on the same day (as the prince).

“Turns out it was even closer than we thought.”

New mum Samantha said they were having trouble picking a name, but they had a few up their sleeve.

“We’re waiting what fits.”

Matt joked: “We’re keeping an eye on the bookies.”

The babies already have some things in common.

Aside from now sharing a birthday, they are both waiting for an announcement of a name, both were born edging on four kilos, and there are ties to England. to see

“I have family in the UK, so we’ll definitely be visiting some time,” Matt said.

“Might take the birth certificate over, put it in a little picture frame at the fence (of Kensington Palace).”

Their 3.94kg bub, born at Pindara Private Hospital, stole the hearts of the firsttime parents the second he arrived.

“He’s been really good. Things have been easy so far, just fun times ahead,” Matt said.

And Samantha wasn’t fooled into thinking life would proceed as normal.

“This is definitely going to change our lives,’’ she said.

“We’re just excited about this new chapter for us.”
