CLASSIC SUPERHEROES TOP PICK FOR KIDS COSTUMES

-

SUPANOVA might be just around the corner, but for the Gold Coast’s youngest super hero fans the fun has already begun.

More than 200 lucky kids – and their parents – had their chance to dress up and attend a super hero breakfast and a screening of The Lego Batman Movie at Event Cinemas at Pacific Fair yesterday.

When it comes to costumes, old favourites are still winning out among today’s kids, according to Broadbeach Alliance Partnerships manager Lou McGregor.

The alliance joined with Pacific Fair and the cinema for yesterday’s fun morning, and is involved in organising the Supanova Superhero Parade this Sunday.

“Batman’s popular, Spider-Man, Superman, Supergirl,” Ms McGregor said.

“Little kids just know what they know, so they do have their favourites, but the ones that have been popular since the 1930s are still popular.”

For one young fan, it was a very special day — Max Ede, 3, loved his first visit to the cinema, according to his mother, Anja.

“He’s a big Batman fan. Every day at home he puts his mask on and he runs around and plays Batman,” Ms Ede said, adding Max couldn’t wait for this Sunday’s Superhero Parade.

“We have a flyer, and every day he asks me, ‘Mummy, is it today?’ and I say ‘no, a few more days’, so he’s really excited.”
