Race delay on accident
AN Anzac Day race meeting at Gawler in South Australia was delayed by more than an hour when a staff member was hit by an on-course ambulance.
The 20-year-old worker was helping remove obstacles during the first race, a hurdle event, when he stepped back into the path of an ambulance.
“He’s conscious and seems OK but the ambulance did hit him reasonably hard around the abdomen area,” a club spokesman said.
Police and WorkSafe officers investigated the incident.
