PNG mission for Mathison

MERMAID Waters young gun Morgan Mathison and her Australian teammates yesterday began their quest for Youth Olympic Games qualification in PNG.

Mathison, a 17-year-old midfielder, is part of a nine-strong Australian squad taking on PNG, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu in a fiveday tournament in Port Moresby.

The top two teams from the five-aside competition will qualify for the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina in October.
