Gordon mindful of Moylan

-

MICHAEL Gordon knows exactly what Cronulla X-factor Matt Moylan is capable of.

Moylan effectively succeeded Gordon as Penrith fullback in 2013, sparking an upturn in the Panthers’ form once they accommodated him by moving Dean Whare to centre.

Now playing five-eighth for the Sharks, he sprung to life against his former club last weekend in a sign that he will be the chief danger man Gold Coast must shut down on Saturday at Robina. The Round 8 fixture falls one day shy of the five-year anniversary of Moylan’s NRL debut.

Titans No.1 Gordon is well aware of the threat posed by Moylan.

“He was there (at Penrith) when I was there,” the 34-yearold said.

“He was a young kid coming through and I have got a lot of time for Moyser and it will be good to play against him. Obviously we have got to be wary of him.

“He is a fantastic player. He has definitely got all of the attributes of a great player and he is playing good footy at the moment.”

Moylan broke the hearts of Titans fans on his last visit to Cbus Super Stadium, nailing a field goal to help Penrith win 15-14 in Round 25 of the 2016 season.
