RICH-LISTER SELLING MAIN BEACH APARTMENT
RICH-LISTER Tony Quinn has another sweet deal up his sleeve.
Fresh from making a $175 million killing on the sale of iconic lolly icon Darrell Lea, Mr Quinn has put his luxury Main Beach apartment on the market.
The listing comes four months after the entrepreneur splashed $3.4 million on a Byron Bay retreat.
Property records show the Quinn family bought the three-bedroom apartment in the Axis building for $2.62 million in 2006.
Ray White Prestige agent Jackson Paradise is marketing the 320sq m property and said his vendor was “motivated to sell”.
“It’s a very luxurious apartment on the 19th floor,” Mr Paradise said. “There are five massive balconies and stunning ocean and Hinterland views.
“It’s also a short stroll to Tedder Ave, some of the Gold Coast’s best beaches, a selection of cafes and restaurants and the Main Beach light rail station.”
The residence has three ensuited bedrooms and a home office.
Mr Quinn made his fortune from his family’s VIP Petfoods empire, selling it for $410 million in 2015.
The family’s $200 million sale of Darrell Lea to Quadrant Private Equity followed earlier this year.
Mr Quinn is a regular visitor to New Zealand but told the Bulletin in January he hoped to spend more of his time in Byron Bay.
The family operates motorsport facilities and other businesses, including popular entertainment centre Game Over at Helensvale.
They have been a heavy hitter in the Gold Coast property scene over the years.
The Quinn family sold an art deco-style mansion at Tamborine Mountain for $5.5 million in 2016 and has also owned property at Broadbeach Waters.
