Taxman has Ferarri focus
THE taxman is on the hunt for cash-in-the-hand tradies and money-laundering Ferrari drivers who sink money into cars to dodge payment.
In a massive crackdown, the ATO will match records over three financial years with tax returns and information from state and territory main roads’ departments.
On the hit list will be data on cars sold or bought where the purchase price or market value is equal or greater than $10,000.
Taxpayers who claim modest wages but drive expensive cars will be in the ATO’s sights.
