Live exports can never be humane. They must stop

-

I AM very angry with all the people involved in the live export trade.

All of them, from the farmers to the politicians, they must have known how these animals have been treated after all the years it’s been going on.

And I say they are all ‘rotten bastards’.

Just a few days ago another ship sailed out of Fremantle and there were dead sheep on board before it left the harbour. Those sheep are on the high seas now as I write. By the time they get to their destination, the ones that are alive will be up to their knees in excrement.

And the people who are responsible are again ‘rotten bastards’.

I heard Simon Crean on TV making lame excuses about why the trade should continue. All he appears to me to be worried about is his own job, and to hell with the animals.

There is no way these animals can be sent alive by ship humanely. It must stop.
