Teens hold up 7-Eleven with toy gun

-

TWO young boys allegedly attempted to hold up an Upper Coomera convenience store with a toy gun yesterday.

The two 13-year-olds are alleged to have entered the 7Eleven on Brygon Creek Dr at about 6pm and demanded cigarettes and lighters from an employee.

One of them then allegedly pulled out a plastic toy gun and pointed it at the staff member, who refused to comply with the teens’ demands.

A member of the public then grabbed the boy with the toy gun by the arm and pulled him around the 7-Eleven counter, taking the fake weapon off him.

Police were called and arrested the teen, while the second boy was found and arrested a short distance from the shop after fleeing on foot.

The teens were assisting police with inquiries last night.
