BOND Pirates have enjoyed a post Commonwealth Games lift in player numbers but remain stretched as they chase their first win of the Gold Coast District Rugby Union season.

The 2015 finalists are yet to score a single point this year with depth a key problem, coach Jeff Bloomers said.

“At least we had a team to warm up (against Gold Coast Eagles) whereas other weeks we have had two (fresh players) because they have all been playing second grade. It has been pretty tough,” he said.
