Rollers really on a roll

-

THE hype behind the Gold Coast Rollers’ QBL quest has flowed over to the betting agents, with Ladbrokes slashing the club’s title odds.

A week after starting the campaign fourth line of betting at $10, the first-up defeat of the Capitals led to the Rollers coming in to third line of betting at $5.50.

Men’s rivals the Seahawks, after starting at $61, have drifted to $81.

This was despite a competitive showing in both of their contests.

Despite the Round 1 win, veteran Dwayne Vale says the Rollers can’t get carried away.

““The three years I’ve played here we’ve been touched up by Brisbane every time,” Vale said.

“We’ve lost a lot in the past couple of years so we can’t afford to get ahead of ourselves.”

The Rollers travel to face the Spartans on Saturday, while the Seahawks play their first home game earlier on the day against the Capitals.
