ROGERS READY TO GO INTO SURVIVAL MODE
DOES Mat Rogers have what it takes?
The 42-year-old Gold Coast sports star will run on for his biggest game yet when he attempts to outwit, outplay and outlast rivals on the next season of reality TV hit
Australian Survivor.
The former dual rugby international will head to Fiji this month to join
Australian Survivor host Jonathan LaPaglia and fellow castaways on the show’s set.
The show will reportedly use the Mamanuca Islands Tribal Council set rebuilt by the show’s US producers in 2016 after it was destroyed during severe Tropical Cyclone Winston, which killed 44 people. The production has also booked out the nearby Mana Island Resort and Spa for use during filming.
Branded Champions v Contenders, the 2018 season will see “champions of public life” such as former Wallaby and Kangaroo Rogers compete against “everyday Aussies” for a $500,000 prize.
While it’s billed as the most challenging reality show of all time,
Australian Survivor isn’t the only primetime reality competition The Southport School old boy Rogers has contested.
The gregarious go-getter put his best foot forward as a contestant on the 15th season of Channel 7 reality TV series
Dancing With The Stars in 2015, dancing his way to the semi finals with professional partner Ash-Leigh Hunter.
Most recently, Rogers impressed himself and colleagues in his first-ever full-time salaried “day” job – as volunteer engagement manager for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
