Shock over body in tub

A WOLLONGONG man showed a woman a dead body in his bathtub and subsequently asked her to help him move the corpse, a court has heard.

Mark Kenneth Jenkin, 46, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Mark Downer, 56, whose body was discovered in a surfboard bag inside the laundry room of a housing commission complex in 2015.

At Jenkin’s judge-only trial yesterday, a woman, who can’t be named for legal reasons, said she “went into shock” when the accused showed her a man’s body in his bathtub.
