GREAT TIME TO FIGHT WITH A BLUE MARLIN

-

THE blue marlin action off the Gold Coast at the moment is red hot, I am hearing reports of boats having up to eight bites in a day.

A friend of mine David Green recently had three bites within the first 30 minutes of fishing. So if you have never caught a blue marlin now might be your time to have a go. The bite is so impressive at the moment that some charter boats who are geared for reef fishing are rearranging their boats so they can tackle the blue marlin and not miss out on the action.

Try the Riviera Grounds to begin your troll but keep an eye out for bait, if you find the bait you’ll find the fish. The blues are in anywhere from 250m to 500m of water.

As a bonus as well as some big blue marlin there are a few massive dolphin fish in the same area as well as big tuna too. I regularly fish for small black marlin by myself but big blues are a different story. They are too big too handle by yourself, you’ll want a mate with you for sure.
