Coomera a cut above

AFTER just five years of running, Coomera Cutters Junior Rugby League Club has been named Best Club in the Sportscover Clubbies Awards.

The multicultural club has grown to be the second largest junior rugby league club on the Gold Coast and was awarded the title due to its valuable contribution to the community.

Confederation of Australian Sport CEO Rob Bradley said the Clubbies was about much more than just winning.

“The Clubbies is about rewarding the dedication, integrity and sportsmanship of those who put their heart and soul into community sport,” he said.

In its third year, the awards attracted over 1100 entries from around Australia.
