SUN, SURF, SAND AND A STICK EQUALS FUN AT THE SPIT
A LITTLE fun in the sun never hurt anybody ... and for our furry friends, nothing beats getting wet and sandy at The Spit.
The sunny, autumn weather is perfect to be by the water and dog owner Bianca Andersen couldn’t think of better company to spend it with than her two dogs, Bailey, a black labrador, and golden retriever Lily.
The 28-year-old has a business walking dogs and pet sitting called Happy Tails, a side job she wants one day to take full time.
“I just love animals, they make me happy and (they’re) easy to please,” Ms Andersen said. “I love bringing joy to them and the joy they bring me. Especially larger breeds, they have lots of love to give.
“I visualise this becoming my job, having someone working in every suburb. I have big plans, it’s my dream.”
And she says Bailey and Lily are more than a handful with their cheeky antics.
“She’s (Lily’s) very possessive, she steals other dogs’ balls and toys and teddies,” Ms Andersen said.
Debbie Holland, from Forest Lakes, brought her pack to beach – two longhaired chihuahuas called Treelow and Squirrel, and young pup Loki.
“Treelow is 15 years old,” she said. “She’s seen it all.”
Bull mastiff Boston is a big hulk of a boy but owner Georgia Sparrow said he still thought he was a puppy.
“He gets into small spaces because he doesn’t know his size,” she said. “He’s more a family member than a pet. He goes everywhere with me.”
