Solar not in way of M1
SOLAR panels on the M1 will not get in the way of Oxenford intersection upgrades says the State Minister for Main Roads.
In response to a community petition on the matter, which raised concerns about the placement of the panels on a vacant block adjacent to the Oxenford Tavern, Minister Mark Bailey said congestion upgrades have been considered.
According to the Minister, residents who have called for a slip lane in the place of the solar panels will receive congestion relief in the near future with the business case for a $25 million upgrade expected to be finalised by the end of this year with construction in 2019.
“The government is committed to the Oxenford interchange this term,” he said.
