Grocer & Grind makes way for GG’s

POPULAR Broadbeach Waters wholefoods bar and cafe Grocer & Grind has shut up shop as a new 1920s-style European venue prepares to open in its place.

The new venue, GG’s, is the brainchild of three female friends from different countries – Maria Tsirlina, Rosalind Williams and Christelle Langlet – who say they have fallen in love with the Gold Coast.

“We have worked for (Koi, Glass and The Loose Moose owner) Patrik Gennari and are fortunate enough to have him mentoring us with our first business,” Maria Tsirlina said.

Inspired by the trio’s heritage and travels, she said the new venue would bring a 1920s European-style eatery and bar to the corner of T.E Peters Drive and Sunshine Boulevard – a short walk from The Star Gold Coast, the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Pacific Fair, Broadbeach CBD, the light rail and the beach.

“We hope to reinvigorate the space with a fresh, new fit out and bespoke menu upgrade while maintaining the healthy options that have grown familiar to our local community,” Ms Tsirlina said.

“GG’s will be open for breakfast, lunch and some dinners as we transition from a relaxed patisserie style cafe by day to a buzzing eatery and bar by night.”

Ms Tsirlina said the trio’s mantra was “all about balance”

“From fresh coconut lattes to soul-warming cocktails, GG’s has something for everybody,” she said.
