CHANGING WITH THE SEASONS

They serve some of the best Italian fare on the Coast, but that doesn’t mean the Carneys rest on their laurels. There are new temptations in store at Sorrento and Nobbys, write Sally Coates and Denise Raward

THE eagle-eyed may have spotted the rebadging of Gemelli Sorrento to Roy’s, a nod to the casual, neighbourhood style establishment that locals have embraced.

The Carney brothers, Paul and twins James and Alec, opened the doors as Gemelli Sorrento a year ago, bringing their signature handmade regional Italian style to the suburbs, following the success of Gemelli at Broadbeach and Gemillini at Nobby Beach.

It was their first venture menu based on his region and what vegetarian means to them.

The selection will change between vegetarian and vegan options and there will be vegan cheese for the pizzas.

From beetroot gnocchi to a slow-cooked frittata, the weekly spread is sure to leave vegans, omnivores and everyone in between happy.
