Morgan’s lucky escape

GOLD Coast behemoth Morgan Boyle believes he will be able to escape surgery on his troublesome shoulder.

The 21-year-old (pictured) has battled shoulder “instability” since coming off second-best in a pre-season training collision with Jarrod Wallace and was feared to require a year-ending operation.

Boyle has been sidelined for the past four rounds but hopes to be back on deck against Newcastle at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday.

“I’ve got to pass my training stuff this week and hopefully I will be right to make a return this weekend,” he said.

“(There is) no need for surgery at the moment.

“It’s fine now, it’s all good.”
