TEEN DIES IN SMASH
A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was killed and six other people injured in a two-vehicle crash at Oxenford. The crash occurred at Tamborine-Oxenford Rd about 3.30pm yesterday when a sedan and a utility travelling in opposite directions collided.
A TEENAGER has died in a head-on car crash in the Gold Coast hinterland.
The 15-year-old boy died when two cars collided at Oxenford at about 3.30pm yesterday.
A man remained in a critical condition with a head injury and several others suffered less serious injuries.
Police said the crash occurred on the Tamborine Oxenford Rd when a sedan and a utility collided head on.
The teenager was sitting behind the driver of the sedan.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man who suffered a head injury was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The road was closed for hours while paramedics assessed a total of seven patients – four from the sedan and three from the utility.
Queensland Ambulance Service transported five patients to the Gold Coast University Hospital, all suffering minor injuries, for precautionary checks.
Among those transported was a woman and a child.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
