Beauty mega-stars add gloss for fans
MAKEUP vlogger Michael Finch descended on Pacific Fair in Broadbeach yesterday – causing mass hysteria from his teenage fans and confusion from older shoppers.
“Who is he?” puzzled shoppers repeatedly asked as teenage girls, and a few boys, shrieked, screamed and jumped up and down as Mr Finch took to the stage at The Resort area of the centre.
Some fans of the video blogger, who gives advice on wearing makeup, had been waiting since 4.30am to claim one of 400 tickets to meet Mr Finch and take a selfie.
“Oh my god! It is so hot!” Mr Finch said onstage as he fanned himself.
A brief question-andanswer session followed whereby he advised his young audience that they should “go for it” and not listen to any doubters if they wanted to be like him. And many do.
Tori Dickinson, 16, came from Narangba north of Brisbane to meet Mr Finch. She was not disappointed.
“He is absolutely funny, he is caring, kind, I love his videos,” she enthused after her brief meeting with the vlogger.
“He is very inspirational and always inspires me for looks I want to do and helps me learn things.”
Ms Dickinson said she has her own Youtube channel – Tori Kayla – where she has
posted five videos including one called “everyday makeup”.
“I give makeup tips. Michael is my inspiration.”
Mr Finch, after complaining about the heat several times, then proceeded to take selfies with his legion of adoring followers.
He has 638,000 followers on Instagram and 863,477 subscribers for his Youtube channel–Makeup by michael finch.
Video titles include: Full Face Using Makeup I Hate, How To Make A Big Nose Look Small and My First Paranormal Session.
Mr Finch wasn’t the only Youtube sensation and beauty guru brought to Pacific Fair for Pacific Fair Beauty Weekend.
James Charles drew a large crowd on Saturday, with his fanbase screaming, sobbing and shouting with delight when he made his appearance.
The crowds were so large on both days that Pacific Fair owner AMP Capital had to put on nine additional security guards and 15 team members to cope.
